Soul Invitation
By Casey Dunne
“Soul Invitation”
What if I invited you
To dance and laugh with the thunderstorm
On the edge of windswept bluffs
Under starry darkness in the slivers of moonlight?
What if I invited you
To paint in the present moment
With ink and colors of gemstones
On sheets of ancient trees?
What if I invited you
To feel the clay beneath your feet
As you stand on mountaintops
And let the sun burn your soul back into your flesh?
I invite you to love
To find deepest pleasure because you know pain
And chose not to fear it.
I invite you to believe
Something unfathomably wonderful waits
Around the curve of the river rapids.
I invite you to play
In the ocean foam and float beyond the horizon
Into the place where time folds in on itself.
What if I invited you
To learn the secrets of the desert ruins
Of fossils and bone shrouded in sands?
What if I invited you
To embrace all that you know and all you never will
As fuel for the fire in your belly?
What if I invited you
To heal collective wounds so that they bleed
Into new life in the cosmic womb?
I invite you to open
When it feels like you are breaking
And allow your soul to shatter its way home.
I invite you to create
From the place between worlds you’ve opened to
Making music out of shadows and light.
I invite you to live
With your feet rooted in mud
And your mind flying through pink clouds.
What if I invited you to be?
